Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
This passage gives us a glimpse into the heart of a wise person.
There are three key lessons I see in this verse. I believe these simple lessons can radically alter our lives.
Here’s a couple of brief takeaways from this passage:
1. A wise person is on a continual quest to learn.
Learners are earners. That’s a huge motto in the corporate world.
If you are learning new things, you are stretching your life. Increasing your understanding and growing.
2. A wise person can handle correction.
They take criticism and correction and turn it into new knowledge.
They don’t take things personal, and they refuse to allow the criticism of others to cripple their self esteem and confidence.
They realize that we are all on a journey and need to learn the ropes. So they don’t take it personal when they fail.
3. Increase is the hallmark of the wise person.
Because they have added wisdom to their life…
Because they have sought wisdom and made understanding a priority, their life is marked by increase, promotion and enlargement. They never fail, because they are continually learning. The new knowledge allows them to gain control of their life and expand their dreams.
How can you apply this to your life?
Are there areas in your life that you need to work on?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
