Proverbs 7:4

Proverbs 7:4
Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman.

I love this passage.

Video Notes

Three things I want to mention about this verse.

1. Realize That God Has Given Wisdom

God is so good to us. He has given us everything we need to live a life of abundance, joy, peace, and fullness.

Wisdom is one of the things He has given.

You do not have to go through life without wisdom.

2. Make Your Confession Positive About Wisdom

Say to wisdom…

Talk to her.

Confess that you are in relationship to her.

I believe our words are powerful. What we say and agree with has tremendous power in our lives.

Make sure you are agreeing with God about wisdom.

NOTE: This is one of the few times in the Bible where God actually tells us what to say. We need to take heed and make sure we are aligning ourselves with His truth by speaking what He says to speak.

3. Agree To Partner with Wisdom

I think the key to this is that we agree to partner with wisdom in our lives.

When we make this our confession, it does several things:

A. We are agreeing with God
B. We are positioning ourselves to receive from God
C. We are informing our soul that God’s word has the authority in our lives
D. We are being positive about life

My Story

When I first discovered this passage, I took it literally.

I began to say ‘out loud’ that wisdom was my sister.

Don’t underestimate what happens when we agree with God.

But the bottom line is that we are agreeing to seek and use the wisdom of God.

Final Matters

How can you apply this to your life?

Are there areas in your life that you need to work on?

I would love to hear your thoughts.
