Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Life can be unpredictable. But we are called to live life in the light of God’s reality and truth.
In this Wisdom for the Day video we look at a passage that challenges us to submit our plans to God.
Key Lessons From Proverbs 27:1
What Does This Passage Teach Us?
Boasting about our accomplishments, plans, and pursuits signals two things:
1. We are operating in pride and trusting in our ability. This cuts us off from the power of God.
2. We are not ‘considering God.’ We are leaving Him out of the equation of our day.
What Spiritual Lessons Can We Learn?
Take time with God and make sure we are following God’s path and plan.
God wants us to plan, but He wants us to plan in the light of His truth, purposes and power.
He wants us to live in the light of His presence.
What Challenges Does It Present?
It demands that we seek Him to discover His purposes and ways.
What Promises Does It Provide?
The unspoken promise is that if we follow His way, He will lead us and bless our lives.
How Can We Apply This To Our Lives?
Take time to be with Him. Plan with the purpose of God in mind.
